Born: Houston, Texas
Education: After graduating with highest honors from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Biophysics and Biochemistry, she attended University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School where she graduated summa cum laude and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
While in medical school, she developed a keen interest in anatomy and served as anatomy laboratory instructor at both University of Texas Health Science Center and Baylor College of Medicine.
She went on to complete a Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Medical College of Virginia and Subspecialty Fellowship Training in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Interventions at Virginia Commonwealth University-MCV.
In the years following, her career has encompassed both academic and private practice endeavors. She became a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology and formerly served as Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University-MCV in the Musculoskeletal Interventional and Woman’s Imaging Sections, and later as Associate Professor and Chief of Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Imaging at UTMB.
She now engages in private practice Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Radiology and continues to actively participate in numerous FDA clinical trials, largely in the assessment of implanted devices and tissue repair responses to biological agents. Active interests include nonionizing radiation laser light therapies and injections used in Aesthetic Medicine.
